Experience The Power of Iceland’s Volcanoes
Made with genuine ash from Eyjafjallajökull
Wear a Piece of the Earth
A Timepiece of Earth
In 2010, the volcano Eyjafjallajokull, turned the whole world upside down by discharging incredible amounts of ash into the sky.
The gigantic ash cloud was blown over into mainland Europe stalling airline traffic for days and days.
People from all over the world were now affected by Icelandic ash, just as the Vikings had been centuries before.
The minuscule, light volcanic ash that has upended the world twice in two years is now
a part of our newest watch.
Every Dial is Unique
Every dial is unique because the material is so fluid and alive when the dial is created.
Looks like a Lava Field
When you look closely at the dial you can see that it actually looks like a lava field.
The frisland series has been one of JS Watch’s most successful series and this new addition to the series have been welcomed by dedicated customers and collectors around the world.
Every Dial is Unique Because the Material
is so Fluid and Alive when the Dial is Created
The Goð dial is made with ashes from the eyjafjallajökull eruption using a very special technique.
First, clear color is applied to the galvanic black dial, then the volcanic ash is sprinkled into the wet color.
After the color and ash have dried, the surface of the dial is polished but care is taken to let the texture and character of the ash come through.
Then the white indexes and
numbers and the red “Goð”
are printed on the dial.

Exceptional timepieces promise to put the country on the map for something other than hot springs, Bjork and disruptive volcanoes.
